The Real-time Screen Monitoring Function of OsMonitor

From 10.0.50 release of OsMonitor, we added real-time monitoring function. For the versions before 10.0.50, users needed to set period of monitoring, for example, take a screenshot every 3 seconds, and the pictures will be saved on the server computer in jpg format for access.
In order to meet some users’ requirements, we added real-time monitoring function from version 10.0.50. Managers can monitor employee computers in real-time on their own computer via a LAN or the Internet. OsMonitor supports real-time screen monitoring of multiple employees computers at the same time, smooth screen, little bandwidth and low CPU occupation, and just like watching your own computer.
It is easy to begin real-time monitoring. Select the employee computer you want to monitor on the monitoring list or screenshot view, then right-click to select “Real-time Screen Monitoring”. As shown below:

Real-Time Monitoring

After the click, the employee computer screen in real-time will pop up. You can select multiple employee computers to monitor at the same time.

Real-Time Monitoring

Please note that you need to enable TCP 7213 port in the firewall of the server to use real-time monitoring. In most cases(99%), OsMonitor has enabled this port for you automatically. If you use special firewall or hardware that causes failure of real-time monitoring function, please manually set up your firewall of the server by allowing to enable TCP 7213 port.

The Remote Desktop Function of OsMonitor

With the remote desktop function of OsMonitor you can operate employee computer remotely and without confirmation, and control multiple staff computers smoothly at the same time. With this feature, the administrators can maintain their company's computers in their seats instead of going to the single computer. Words like remote control, remote assistance, remote monitoring and remote operation are familiar to us in today’s world, and LAN remote control software is brought into our view.

Start Remote Desktop

OsMonitor remote desktop
Generally, Win XP and later versions of Microsoft systems come with the Remote Desktop Connection feature, but as there are limits of number of computers connected, and the requirement of computer user name and password, many administrators abandoned the Remote Desktop feature of the system. For a number of employees set their own working computer's user name and password, it is almost impossible for administrators to ask each of them and get connected. Third-party remote control software have also been favored by many network administrators, however, screens of most remote control software are not smooth and easy to get stuck, and you need to know the computer user name and password and send a Remote Assistance request to start the connection. These are the things that annoy most administrators when using third-party remote control software.
Select the employee computer that you want to operate remotely on the server and click the Remote Assistance button.
OsMonitor Employee Monitoring Software started to perfectly support the remote control function from the 9.9.91 version on the advice of many network administrators. You can simply select the computer you want to operate from the monitor list in the server of OsMonitor, and right click to select "Remote Assistance". Or when you are checking the screenshot view of the employee computers and find violations, you can select this computer and click "Remote Assistance", then you can remotely control that staff computer. You can operate multiple employee computers at the same time. Remote screen is smooth and clear, just like operating your own computer. Operating employee computers remotely has greatly reduced the difficulty for administrators to manage the dispersed staff computers.
Currently on the market there are numerous remote monitoring software, and almost every once in a while it will launch a new remote monitoring software. OsMonitor Employee Monitoring Software has 8 years of developing experience and becomes an employee monitoring software with very complete function with the advice and support from our customers.

Employee Monitoring Software OsMonitor’s Updated Version Released

OsMonitor is an employee monitoring software that has gained wide currency among employers and project managers across industries. Recently, the developers announced that they have updated the previous version.

USA, 3rd February
OsMonitor, an employee monitoring software that allows server side monitoring, has been a natural choice for many employers and project managers since it was launched for the first time. The developers of the employee tracking software recently announced that they have upgraded and updated the software program with new features and also have fixed a couple of bugs.

The developers added that the new software can now be purchased and downloaded from the official website of the company. They also added that existing users need not to pay any amount for downloading the upgraded version.

“Server side users can take screenshots of the systems that are under surveillance, get the complete record of the websites visited, monitor chat history, track files and emails sent through Microsoft Outlook, track the windows and browser tabs opened during a working session, and track applications that have been used”, said a senior software developer while describing the salient features of the employee monitoring software program.

“The monitoring data gets directly stored in the server computer. One advantage of using server side monitoring is that even if the user deletes the files or the data, project managers can see the data as it gets stored in real time”, he added.
OsMonitor employee monitoring software also allows users to block websites, games and other work-unrelated applications, USB disks and ports, and large uploads and downloads, revealed another member of the development team that has managed this project of upgrading the software program.

“Our software can now query all types of infractions on server end and print detailed reports. We must say that the software was successful if we go by the number of downloads and purchases. However, we just wanted to make it better, add new features and modify the existing features so we can make it more user-friendly, or employer-friendly”, commented the CEO and managing director of Wangya Computer Co Ltd, the software development company that has developed the employee monitoring software program. He also informed that the development team is now working on a new parental control software program.

Companies Should Not Be Too Offhand When Deploying Employee Monitoring Software

It has become an open secret that employees play games, chat online and do non-business-related affairs during office hours. However, this pleasant life ended with the emerging of employee monitoring software. An increasing number of businesses are forced to deploy this kind of software, for example, OsMonitor employee monitoring software, in order to manage their employees.

Employees complain incessantly for the restriction which the software put on their office computer, and they charged that the enterprise violated their privacy. So, what is the definition of privacy? Privacy means one can live a peaceful personal life with his or her personal information being protected by the law, being free from being observed, disturbed, collected, exploited or made public. Yet when the employees use work computers during work time to play entertainment games and have private chat while the company has informed the installation of monitoring software, privacy is not established. You may say that company does not have the right to know your personal information, but why do you handle private information during work hours and save your information on the office computer? The fact is, most people save personal information in office computers and use work hours to handle it or do non-work-related things. However, those practices are impossible to get legal protection if being serious. The comments above might make some office workers uncomfortable, but that is true.

Can company be completely offhand when deploying employee monitoring software though it is reasonable to do so?

While enterprise managers apply such software like OsMonitor Employee Monitoring Software, they should pay more attention to humane management, and let employees love the enterprise ideologically so as to avoid negative emotions at work and ensure a long-term development of the company. Before the enterprise deploying employee monitoring software, the manager should not be too self-willed and offhand, it is the best to communicate with the staff and obtain their support and understanding to the maximum extent. For instance:

1.The enterprise should let its employees know before deploying the employee monitoring software. One the one hand, this will give the employees the right to know and avoid the risk of violating related laws, one the other hand, this can also play a role as deterrence, so that employees consciously correct and avoid unreasonable online behavior.

2.Use flexible, user-friendly control strategy on different department or single person according to their different jobs.

3.The enterprise should restrict staffs during work hours and remove it appropriately when it is break time, for example, the lunch break. This will not only ensure the health and proper operation of the network during office hours, but also gives time for employees to relax and ease the working pressure.

4.Management approach of“Courtesy before resorting to force”. When a employee violates the rules, the manage should persuade and convince at first. The actual penalties should come out only when an employee is incorrigible.

5.Management approach of “Give face”. For example, when an employee’s violation is discovered, manager should try not to criticized the staff in front of other colleagues, but take the form of private communication. On the one hand, this will give face to the employee and show the solicitude of the company and thus achieve the support from the employee; on the other hand, other employees will not generate bias on the litigant and avoid expansion of the event or the emulation of other staffs.

To have a blind faith in employee monitoring software is undesirable

It must be recognized that employee monitoring software is only a technical means, it requires the coordinate of proper business management to achieve the ultimate goal of managing an enterprise. Managers should not maintain blind superstition and optimism for this type of software, as an important effect of employee monitoring software is deterrence. The goal of employee monitoring software is to make employees conscious of the business regulation, but not just monitoring. Monitoring management should act in concert with corresponding enterprise management system, specifically, establishing an appropriate computer and network usage management system. For key individuals units like R & D personnel and staff who master the trade secret, it is necessary to bound them by labor contract or confidentiality agreement, and to restrict and manage form legal aspects in order to achieve a more rigorous corporate governance.

The realm of grand-master is “actionless governance”, and the staffs cannot feel the presence of the monitoring. The ultimate goal of using employee monitoring software is that, when employee monitoring software is removed one day, the enterprise is still in excellent order and every staff follows the provision of company.
